prishtinainsight For the second consecutive day, hundreds protested in #Prishtina, demanding accountability, resignations, and urgent action against #femicide and gender-based violence. The protests follow the murder of Arlinda Zekaj, who was killed on the evening of October 25 in #Peja/Pec, after police had accompanied her home from the police station, where she had reported domestic abuse by her ex-husband. The chief prosecutor and deputy chief prosecutor of Peja/Pec, as well as 11 police officers, were #suspended on Thursday after the recent femicide case demonstrated institutional failures. #Protesters are demanding the dismissal of Justice Minister Donika Gërvalla and Interior Minister Xhelal Sveçla, as well as the imprisonment of officials responsible for handling the case.
